Traeger Wood Pellets Settlement: $1.5M

Traeger has agreed to a $1.5 million class action settlement to resolve claims that it falsely advertised its wood pellets as being made from 100% hardwood. According to the lawsuit, Traeger customers in California and Utah were misled by marketing that failed to disclose the use of softwood in the company’s wood pellet products.

The plaintiffs argued that Traeger violated consumer protection laws by selling pellets labeled as premium hardwood when the actual composition was a blend of hardwood and softwood. They say this practice allowed Traeger to charge premium prices while delivering a product that didn’t match the advertised claims.

Traeger, known for its wood pellet grills and fuel products, denies the allegations but agreed to settle to resolve the legal dispute.

What Settlement Class Members Can Receive

Consumers who qualify will automatically receive $3 coupons for Traeger wood pellets. No claim form is required. Coupons will be attached to certain bags of Traeger wood pellets or made available on shelves in California and Utah retail stores that sell Traeger products.

The coupons are intended to compensate customers who purchased Traeger pellets under the belief that they were buying a 100% hardwood product. This settlement resolves claims and provides relief to consumers without requiring proof of purchase or additional documentation.
