About This Settlement
A class action lawsuit alleged that State Farm failed to pay full purchasing fees on total loss auto claims to Alabama policyholders, including state and county sales tax, ad valorem taxes, and license, tag, and school fees. Who Qualifies
- You may be eligible to file a claim if you meet all of the following criteria:
- You are an Alabama policyholder or insured of an applicable State Farm entity
- You submitted a covered first-party private passenger auto physical damage claim between November 7, 2018, and February 10, 2026
- Your claim resulted in a total loss claim payment from State Farm
- Your total loss payment allegedly did not include full purchasing fees, which may include Alabama state sales tax, county sales tax, ad valorem taxes, and state, county, or city license fees, tag fees, and/or school fees
- No proof of purchase is required to file a claim
