FuboTV Privacy Settlement: $3.4M

All U.S. residents (including territories) who had a FuboTV account or used another person’s FuboTV account at any time before May 29, 2025.

FuboTV has agreed to a $3.4 million class action settlement to resolve allegations it violated the Video Privacy Protection Act (VPPA) by sharing user data with third parties without consent. The VPPA prohibits video streaming services from disclosing personally identifiable viewing data to external companies like Facebook and Google.

The plaintiffs in the lawsuit claim FuboTV, a popular sports-focused streaming platform, collected and disclosed viewing history and user information without obtaining users’ consent—allegedly in violation of federal law.

FuboTV denies any wrongdoing but chose to settle the case to avoid continued litigation.

What Settlement Class Members Can Receive

Eligible individuals may receive:

• Cash Payment:
  Each class member who submits a valid claim will receive an equal share of the net settlement fund. Final payment amounts depend on the total number of claims filed.

• California Bonus:
  Class members who also certify they lived in California during their use of the FuboTV service will receive 1.1x the standard payout to account for enhanced state protections under California law.

To receive a cash payment, eligible individuals must submit a claim form by Sept. 12, 2025.

This settlement compensates users whose data privacy may have been violated and reinforces protections against unlawful data sharing in the streaming industry.
